Snow Crab (lat. name – Chionoecetes opilio) is a cold-water species of crab, its tender meat with a sweet taste has distinctive nutritional and dietary properties.
The season of crab catching begins in April and lasts until June. Crabs are caught by NWFC vessels in ecologically clean water of the Barents Sea (zone FAO 27) with the help of special traps. Today the certification of catching this type of crab to the MSC (Marine Stewardship Council) standards is finished, certification of production is in the final stage.
Right after being caught, Snow crab is cooked on board the vessel, brine frozen, cut up and packed into containers for further transportation observing all the quality requirements. This type of processing preserves organic raw materials in their natural state, thus guaranteeing good flavor properties and the quality of the products.
For making our products we use cooked frozen legs and claws of brine frozen Snow crab.
